Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Our talented designer Karin from If For Really has created this super fun Halloween scavenger hunt that includes not only clever hints but tasks to complete! It’s right! This unique scavenger hunt will have your family search your home for clue bags that contain a task or task. Families must then work together to complete the task before they can move on to the next clue. Fun, isn’t it?

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Start by adding these colourful Halloween Scavenger Hunt bag covers to your five lunch bags. I used white lunch bags, but the traditional brown ones are perfect for the fall theme too! You can print the bag lids on cardboard packaging and attach them to the front of the bag, or you can print the design directly on the lunch bags. Woot woot! Super easy!

Then fill each bag with one of the five included activities. You will want to include any printables and/or supplies required for this game. This is what the family will accomplish before moving on to the next clue.

This special Halloween scavenger hunt includes five fun activities. Activities (and materials required to fit into the bag) include:

Spooky Charades – Try to have your family members guess the Halloween element on the map without using words or sounds!

Print Forms: Charade Cards

No additional items required

Halloween Costume Creations – Create a unique costume using unusual materials.

Print version: Activity card

Additional Items Required: Unique costume accessories such as newspapers, crepe paper, or toilet paper.

Skeleton Scattergories – Test your Halloween vocabulary with a Halloween twist in Scattergories game.

Print version: Category Card

Additional item required: pen / pencil

Spider Races – Use straws (or your mouth) to chase mini-spiders through an obstacle course.

Print version: Instruction card

Finally, add hints to the bottom of each bag. Take five location clue cards and add one to the bottom of each bag. The only clue that won’t fit in the bag is the first note that explains the game and offers the first clue. It starts with:

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

With pumpkins, stuffed animals and tricks – if you dare!

This Halloween hunt includes hint after hint,

But before moving on – the task you must do! …

All of the tips are written to guide your family to the places you find in a typical home, including:

Dinner table

Towel/linen cabinet

Place all the clue bags in different places around the house as indicated in the clues. Except for the first clue, which explains the game, the order of the following clues doesn’t matter.

To end it all, place a special Halloween gift or treat at the very last spot on your hunt. You can use our printed gift tag to attach to the final prize. For Halloween, a fun prank or treat bag, their Halloween costume, or traditional Halloween treats are great!

When your family is ready to play, give them the first clue. When they find the clue bag, have them open the clue bag to reveal the activity. After completing the task, they can climb to the bottom of the bag to read the next clue.

Happy Ghost. .. I mean Hunt!
